THE COUNCIL ACT

Since the Council Act has been repealed it is appropriate to look carefully at the content of this act, the good things and the bad things, although perhaps we are not the right people to reflect upon this law because we have not been involved with the activities of the Land Court. One part of this Act has borne fruit, the Block Committee. It is clear that most of the Act was wrong because it has not had positive results.

CHURCH SERVICES AT TE ARAI

On 20th October the teachers at Te Rau, Rev F W Chatterton and Reweti T Kohere, and their students from the college went to Te Arai, Pahou, to stay for a week. They were greatly blessed by Ngatimaru and Ngatiruapani; their bodies were blessed as were their words. Every night a service was held in the meeting house, ‘Taharakau’, and the building was full each night.

EDITORIAL

The winter is past. This is summer and there is an abundance of seeds. The night of the sun’s zenith is drawing near and the autumn yields its fruits. May we reap some harvest from the autumn.

Many letters from friends have reached us but we are saddened at the smallness of the wings of this bird to carry them. Some of the letters we cannot read because the writing is so smudged. Friends, if you send an article to be carried by our bird, make sure the writing is clear and write only on one side of the paper. However, if you are only writing to the Editor it is alright to use two sides of the paper.
