‘PRAY ALWAYS AND DO NOT LOSE HEART.’

Luke 18.1

Prayer is very important. There are many verses in the Bible about prayer. The good people in the Scriptures are those who pray. The Bible commands us to pray, that we should delight to pray. It shows us examples of prayerful people. And many things of great value come to people who pray.

CHURCH SERVICES AT TE ARAI

On 20th October the teachers at Te Rau, Rev F W Chatterton and Reweti T Kohere, and their students from the college went to Te Arai, Pahou, to stay for a week. They were greatly blessed by Ngatimaru and Ngatiruapani; their bodies were blessed as were their words. Every night a service was held in the meeting house, ‘Taharakau’, and the building was full each night.

‘REMEMBER JESUS CHRIST’

2 Timothy 2.8

(This is the first sermon preached by the Rev F W Chatterton in the Maori language. It was delivered at Te Arai Turanga, June 6, 1902.)

I shall try to preach to you in the language you know. You'll appreciate that I left a largely Pakeha congregation in Nelson to come to the Maori people.
